The first project is nearly complete, this will be a clock face from a laser disc, with an option for back lit with stand alone rechargeable battery source and charger. Pictures to be posted soon. Unsure of how the laser will react with cutting through the plastic cover to attack the aluminium centre, cutting through the laserdisc might prove to be fatal for it’s outcome, so maybe a surface etch is the way forward, after experimenting on a CD.
Well, 2025 was a dreadful year for how things came about, after losing my mum in September after just 5 months fighting cancer, we lost several friends across the UK, some of which were close, so let us hope that 2026 brings about a better year for my family, friends and business associates.
As I moved in full time to care for my elderly parents the middle of 2025, I still now care for my dad, who is in the middle stages of Dementia, so we have relocated business operations to my parents house, so as I setup operations here, I do hope to be producing more products both upcycling ideas and also new products made in 3D for every day life. Having a parent who’s brain is failing, made me decide to make dementia helping 3D plates to show where things are located, making things easier to find, these plates are printed on black PLA with raised lettering in a bright colour. Silly things WE take for granted, are a whole world away from where things were for my dad.
Simple things to help like where to put walking sticks when not in use, my dad leaving the house, always forgetting his walking stick, so we now have brackets that at least a walking stick can be affixed to, as a reminder. I have made simple things for me, simple now for my dad, less searching, more obvious, and I would like to share some of these items, easy to design, easy to print, and really, something appreciated for anyone suffering from an illness as cruel as they come.
Soon on my products page, you will find a section purely for Dementia products. I can offer a basic set, but you can email me a request for a number of plates with your own wording, my sets of 10 plates cost just £19.95 come with double sided Velcro sticky pads for easy fitting.
I have just taken delivery of a cool looking American Soft tail bike, will need some custom parts making, these might all be in PLA, but, might be made as final pieces in either ABS or maybe even Aluminium depending on the heat generated for locations. Stay tuned for more updates.
